About Michael S. Rapich

As a law enforcement executive with 24 years of experience, I currently serve as the Superintendent of the Utah Highway Patrol. I have the opportunity to work with one of the greatest group of law enforcement professionals in the country. Working with a tremendous command staff, we provide statewide operational oversight, implement fatal crash reduction efforts, organizational strategic planning, and manage the administrative affairs of the Utah Highway Patrol. I am a graduate of both the FBI National Academy, March 2010, and the Northwestern University - Police School of Staff and Command, March 2004. I have had many opportunities to develope inter-agency working relationships and programs. I have worked directly with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in the areas of Homeland Security, drug trafficking, criminal investigations, and information sharing. This has involved coordinating local, state, and national efforts in fatal crash reduction and criminal apprehension. With over 18 years of supervisory and management experience, my objective is to prepare a new generation of law enforcement officers to succeed in a rapidly changing environment, to honor those who served before, and to leave a great organization better than I found it.
