Mediator, Company Advisor, Litigator, Husband, Dad, Dog Trainer Mediator I am a Certified Mediator through A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center as well as a Credentialed Mediator through the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association. Using my trial experience along with common sense, I assist people and companies in assessing their risks in order to fully analyze the pros and cons of taking their cases to trial. When I was a kid, my dad used to say, “No matter how thin you pour it, every pancake has two sides.” In that spirit, I use my trial experience and personal background to establish a rapport with each party when mediating a lawsuit, encouraging those to look at it from all sides. That is, not only what they believe they can establish with their evidence, but also what the other party may show with its evidence. Looking at the high spots and low spots of a case can help the parties engage in risk assessment to better grasp the benefits of settling their lawsuit. I handle mediations in person, by Zoom or a hybrid combination. Company Advisor I am outside counsel to a major, Texas based, construction company. I provide guidance and advice to the president and department heads. In the last few years, I have negotiated terms and conditions on contracts totaling over $3 billion, assisted with risk management, and served as liaison with outside insurance counsel. Litigator I have over 35 years of experience as a trial lawyer representing individuals and companies. I have taken scores of cases to verdict earning me a membership with the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only organization dedicated to the preservation of the right to jury trial provided by the 7th Amendment. I hold an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest rating a lawyer can attain for legal expertise, communication skills and ethical standards. I have tried and/or handled a variety of cases including auto/trucking liability, premises liability, products liability, first party, dram shop, homeowners, medical malpractice, commercial, and employment.
