About Michael Sachs

Michael Sachs is a Partner in the Chicago office of Major, Lindsey & Africa where he specializes in placing attorneys at all levels – from junior counsel to General Counsels - in corporate legal departments in a wide range of industries and locations. His recent placements have included, among others:(i) the Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Trustmark Companies, a Chicago-based health insurance company;(ii) the Deputy General Counsel for Dover Corporation, a Chicago-area diversified global manufacturer; and an Associate General Counsel for Hyatt Corporation, in Chicago; and (iv) a lead Government Pricing Attorney for Eli Lilly and Company, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Throughout his career, Mike has performed legal searches in numerous industries, including medical devices, financial services, food & beverage, health care, consumer products, manufacturing, insurance, hospitality, and biotechnology. Mike is a Chicago native and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in broadcast journalism in 1995. Subsequently, Mike earned his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1998, where he was Symposium Editor for the Journal of Law Reform. Prior to joining MLA, Mike was in-house media counsel for NBC Universal, where his primary responsibility was managing legal issues involving syndicated television talk shows. Mike also worked for more than seven years as a litigation and intellectual property associate at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, where he specialized in insurance coverage and insurance class action matters, trademark and media defense cases, and numerous other types of commercial disputes. Mike is a frequent lecturer at law schools on the topic of career planning and development. He has also authored several articles concerning challenges and opportunities in legal recruiting. Mike has written two screenplays, and is an avid runner, tennis player, and bowler.
