hey hey - I'm a software developer with 15+ years of backend, mobile, and general web engineering experience. Most skilled with Python, Ruby, Go, and Postgres but have years of experience with RabbitMQ, Rails/ActiveRecord, Django, Flask, Falcon, Objective-C, Swift, Java, MongoDB, AWS, uWSGI, NGINX, and others. Love learning, reading, nicely formatted JSON, dinosaurs, and F1. Currently work as a senior developer at Infusion Marketing Group implementing web APIs and data processing pipelines with Python, PostgreSQL, and AMQP. Independently, I develop and maintain Serial Reader, a popular mobile app for iOS (Objective-C/Swift) and Android (Java/Kotlin) that's been featured by Apple, the Washington Post, Mashable, Lifehacker, MacStories and others. Includes a Python/Flask API and PostgreSQL datastore (previously MongoDB). Previous professional experience includes working as a principal backend software engineer at ReviewTrackers implementing Ruby, Go, and Python in a services-based architecture including PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, AWS, RabbitMQ. I served as technical lead for overall product/engineering team enforcing best practices, guiding system design & implementation. I also directly managed a team of 2-3 devs among other hats worn since joining as an associate dev in 2018. At Analyte Health from 2016-2018 I served as backend engineer, primarily developing Python web services backed by Django, Falcon, MySQL, with some Wordpress/PHP and Go. From 2008 to 2016 I helped run AccuRadio, a streaming music service. I served as Lead Developer/CTO from 2013-2016. AccuRadio was built on Python, MongoDB, Django, and an extraordinary amount of JavaScript. I handled development, operations, and IT administration: administrating Linux servers, code deployment, database management, static asset storage and delivery, and more. I also built AccuRadio's current iOS, Android, Roku, and Sonos apps. I learn quickly, work hard, communicate well especially in async environments, and am incessantly curious. I also like dinosaurs, camping, reading, history, and music. My current favorite book is The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. My current favorite album is "Light hit my face like a straight right" by Mallrat.
