About Michael Schuster

At the beginning of my career I started as a commissioning engineer in the maritime industry. Within this time I accompanied container, bulker and heavy load vessels on their first sea trial. The jobs I experienced firmly placed me in the shipbuilding industry until today. Alongside work I visited an evening school with the aim to get a technical degree in mechanical engineering. In the course of these studies I added the necessary business knowledge to the hands-on experience I already had. With this additional degree I changed my position to a Sales Manager. My technical understanding and experience in international maritime transport helped me to provide customer oriented service. Expertise in this area led me to become the Head of After Sales. During this time I deepened my knowledge and experience in international sales and business operations. In my present role, I focus on improving the process-oriented structure to achieve quicker throughput and higher productivity in international service activities. From our headquarters in Germany, I manage a team of both office workers and field technicians worldwide with a focus on- Service performance and service partner relationship management- Directing and overseeing operations staff to ensure that they are motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that core operational functions achieve their business objectives- Directing and controlling warehousing and distribution functions to ensure that customers are supplied with the right quantities of goods at the right times- Monitoring the management and controlling processes to improve business procedures and create added value for the company- Evaluating overall company performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data matrices and metrics.
