About Michael Schut

Michael is an EY Partner dedicated to Regulatory, Risk & Resilience Advisory who advices CFOs, CROs and Business Leaders on their strategic change initiatives, often driven by developments in legislation and/or supervisory expectations. He is specialized in delivering transformative (regulatory) change initiatives, implementing new legislation thereby assuring regulatory compliance, running high-pressure remediation trajectories and supporting clients to redesign/develop their finance & risk frameworks including corresponding functions. Michael is a seasoned finance professional with extensive expertise in financial law & risk management and is a member of the external advisory board to the Master’s in Law & Finance (LLM) at the University of Amsterdam. He is EY Client Service Partner for NL-headquartered firms, thereby being the first point of contact for EY to their C-suite. In addition, Michael oversees the EY Banking & Payments service offering in the Netherlands on Risk & Regulation. In terms of the resilience and sustainability agenda he is the EY CFO Consulting lead partner on sustainability services. He is specialized in supporting both financial services and corporate clients with their sustainability reporting journey, adherence to EU Green Deal related legislation, embedding of ESG in risk management and implementing integrated enterprise resilience frameworks.
