About Michael Scordo

I am a medical oncologist and hematologist who specializes in caring for patients with hematologic (blood) cancers who are undergoing autologous or allogeneic hematopoietic cell (stem cell) transplantation and/or who are receiving cellular therapies such as chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy. I primarily focus on using these treatments in patients with lymphoma and multiple myeloma. I am committed to delivering compassionate, personal care for patients and their families. I am also an expert clinical research investigator and clinical trial specialist with years of experience in designing, conducting, and executing clinical trials of all phases (i.e, Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3), both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored. I have published numerous retrospective and prospective studies. My clinical research is focused on improving outcomes for patients by introducing novel approaches to help reduce the side effects and toxicities associated with hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapies. I study ways to personalize the chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy that we give to patients prior to hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapies to improve tolerability while maintaining efficacy. I have a particular interest and research focus in the use and optimization of high-dose therapy and autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapy for the treatment of central nervous system lymphoma.
