I am a litigator and trial attorney with significant experience representing businesses and individuals in a wide range of commercial and business disputes. This can involve workouts prior to litigation or, if necessary, prosecuting and defending claims in state and federal courts. I have tried numerous cases to verdict and argued several appeals. In addition to representing individuals and businesses in claims for breach of contract, fraud, and business torts, some of my past clients also include majority and minority business owners in business breakups, individuals in estate and fiduciary litigation, and contractors and subcontractors in mechanics liens, bond claims and bid protests. I have also represented creditors in bankruptcy litigation and preference claims. Prior Representative Trials • Represented commercial landlord at four day trial for collection of unpaid rent. • Represented sales agent at trial seeking unpaid commissions. • Defended tenant in multi-day trial against claim brought by commercial landlord seeking over of expenses and costs. • Represented commercial property owner at trial against claims for lost profits and diminution of the value of real property. Prior Representative Appeals • Defended personal representative of estate against will challenge filed by daughter of the decedent. • Argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit an issue concerning lien rights. • Argued before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals concerning the standards for a governmental termination for convenience. Other Representative Matters • Filed bid protest on behalf of contractor that was denied award of state contract. • Defended client’s valuable and established domain name against competing claimant before the World Intellectual Property Organization. • Negotiated buyout of minority member of a mortgage company without the need to file a lawsuit.
