About Michael Sheppard

Chief Academic Officer Professor Dr. Sheppard currently sits as the Chief Academic Officer and Lead Academic Chair for Texas Chiropractic College. He teaches, or has taught, courses covering insurance coding, physical medicine and rehabilitation, case management, applied clinic reasoning, physical examination, orthopedics, and chiropractic principles. In addition to his formal educational duties, he also oversees the institution's Interprofessional Education rotation programs and is a certified faculty member through the Texas IPE Consortium. He is a Subject Matter Expert for the Texas Division of Worker's Compensation and serves as a faculty member for the Designated Doctor Training, testing, and certification courses (including topics on Extent of Injury and causation, Spine, Lower Extremity, Physical Examination Procedures, Return to Work, and Physical Examination Workshops). Dr. Sheppard graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in December of and is presently working on a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Health Professions degree through AT Still University. He is currently researching factors that influence clinical education and student development, including the influence of rater impact on assessment outcome and student performance.
