I am an experienced Transport, Waste Management, Operations, Logistics, Warehouse and Distribution professional with a wealth of experience gained within highly regulated industry operations; successful at strategizing change and driving business objectives through the expert leadership of high functioning teams. I am specialised in streamlining productivity to achieve enhanced performance levels through my in depth understanding and knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) and Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Standards (SHEQ). I have been successfully leading waste transport management functions for almost 2 decades and in that time have controlled critical situations such as defective systems and maintenance; I have project managed a scheme to reduce manual handling injuries through the use of SWOT and STEEPLE analysis; changing hazard to revenue.Managing diverse teams has also provided me with the opportunity to develop refined skills in people management, including the establishment of an accident recording process based on a 3 strike disciplinary system which was rolled out on a National level, reducing accident severity and establishing fairness; this continues to be used as the benchmark for consistent driver monitoring and reporting to this day. A similar 3 strike system was also used to identity repeat infringements for drivers hours in conjunction with Vision FTA, this allowed the group driver trainers to focus on supporting improvement by using SMART goals.I’m particularly proud of when I could implement my mechanical knowledge by devising an improved truck design allowing wet food waste to be carried without leaking by partnering with a body builder to design a new door locking system reducing spillages by 100%.I’ve always believed in leading from the front by example; I am HGV1 & DCPC qualified and trained to carry toxic and infectious goods (H5N1)
