About Michael Short

Began my journey in lifestyle marketing working with a major Midwest concert promoter where I was responsible for corporate sponsorship and national talent-buying. In 1986, co-founded a company specializing in producing event-marketing and sponsorship campaigns for clients such as Miller Brewing, Harley-Davidson, Northwest Airlines, Trammel Crow, Burger King, Concerts for the Environment, SC Johnson In 2011, our family realized our dream of moving to Colorado as I took on the role of Executive Director at the Downtown Fort Collins Business Association where I led a Downtown non-profit organization and used sponsorship, media partnerships and event-marketing strategies to take them to the next level both financially and in brand visibility as part of fulfilling their mission to "Promote Downtown and Help It Thrive". In 2016, I returned to the world of entrepreneur and honed my marketing and sponsorship chops as a Market Manager and publisher of three neighborhood magazines in Northern Colorado with Best Version Media (BVM), the fastest growing privately-owned print publication group in North America. Now as the principal of MH Short & Associates am taking on select project work developing sponsorship programs for large festivals and events (as well as continuing to do national talent-buying) and consulting forward-thinking businesses on using experience marketing to build their brand.
