About Michael Simpson

After exploring many employment avenues, I have finally found my calling as an educator. With many year's experience as a mathematics specialist teacher and curriculum expert, I find myself at a point in my career where the importance of the global understanding is becoming intrinsically motivating. This has transferred to my PHD where the question of externally imposed change and how it transfers to schools is laying the foundation for further exploration. Much time is allocated to my thinking regarding the many complexities which construct a teacher's day and what impacts their ability to provide the best learning experiences for our young people. I whole heartedly believe that pedagogical practice must be at the forefront of decision making when engaging in dialogue regarding improving education. I am excited about the next phase of my career, and I am actively seeking opportunities to engage in situations which challenge what we do as educators.
