About Michael Slor

Mike began his insurance career in 1978 as a Commercial Lines Division trainee in Chubb's Los Angeles office. He later assumed a variety of management responsibilities within Chubb’s Middle Market Commercial Lines Division which included managing departments in Phoenix, Minneapolis and ultimately overseeing the New York Region. In 1991, Mike was named Chubb’s North American Casualty Manager with responsibility for overseeing the company’s middle market general liability, automobile, workers' compensation and alternative risk transfer business. In 1993, Mike returned to Chubb’s Marketing division to assume the management responsibilities for the company’s East Coast marketing operations. In 1997, Mike moved back to his California roots to lead the establishment of the company’s new West Coast Risk Management division, and in assumed Chubb’s San Francisco Retail Branch Manager position. Mike also served as Chubb’s California Regulatory Compliance Officer. In 2005, Mike moved to Phoenix, Arizona to lead the establishment of Chubb’s new Western Underwriting Center. Mike earned his Commercial Property, Casualty Underwriting Designation (CPCU) in 1982. Mike served as President of the Golden Gate Chapter of CPCU, was a graduate of Leadership San Francisco, and served as a board member for the California Insurance Guarantee Association. Mike served on the IEA (Insurance Education Association) Board of Directors from 2001 to 2009 and was IEA Chairman from 2007 to 2009. Mike was appointed Senior Vice President of Chubb in December 2007, then Executive Vice President of Chubb NA in 2016. Mike most recently managed one of two Commercial Underwriting Centers within Chubb. The Western Underwriting Center has $400M under management with policies underwritten by a staff of 120+ commercial lines underwriters. Accounts handled range from $2,500 to in commercial multi-line premium. Mike retired from Chubb in October 2017.
