Background

About Michael Sokol

I have a background in athletics with the highlight being a week at the Olympic Training Center in the spring of 1984 for the Western Olympic Trials Box-Off as a Middleweight. I spent over 5 years in Nepal as a Medical Missionary, working with the poorest of the poor in this world.and have learned from them! Life is too short to fuss about trivialities.live out loud! I’ve been a Healthcare professional since 1991 and an RN for nearly 30 years. I got into nursing to bring healing to the sick, the broken and the hurting people entrusted to my care. Leadership is my passion.vision and enthusiasm are the keys to unlock the impossible. “Leaders aren't born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal.” (Vince Lombardi) I was given the opportunity to do leadership development, with a partner, in a hospital nationally ranked 95th of 97 hospitals corporate-wide. The task given to us by the CEO was to bring about a "cultural change" in our hospital. One year later, after 18 hours of leadership training with all hospital leaders, multiple all-staff meetings, implimentation of key tools and tactics, we were ranked #1 in the US. We did what the scoffers, in the beginning, said was impossible. Vision, with dedicated leadership and passion can go anywhere and do anything.even the, so called "impossible!" Many leaders are placed in their new position on an “interim” basis…without the leadership training needed to succeed. John Buchan said, “The task of leadership is not to put greatness into people, but to elicit it, for the greatness is there already.” I am excited about the opportunity to help people find that greatness. Let me know if you want your organization to move from good to great! You can't move numbers until you learn to move people!
