I’m Michael, currently serving as the IT Operations & Cybersecurity Manager at Waséyabek Development Company (WDC). With over 13 years of experience in IT operations, cybersecurity, and governance, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how to manage and optimize technology environments. I hold certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified CMMC Professional (CMMC CCP), Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect Expert (MSCAE), and Security+, reflecting my commitment to staying ahead in the ever-evolving field of information security and IT management. At Waséyabek, I’m responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of technology and cybersecurity operations, not just for Waséyabek but also for our subsidiaries. I enjoy the challenge of developing and refining technology strategies, advising leadership on strategic alignment, and ensuring we adhere to the necessary cybersecurity and IT governance frameworks. Before joining Waséyabek, I served as the Director of Information Technology at RSI Manufacturing in Muskegon, MI, one of Waséyabek’s acquisitions in 2020. My background gives me a unique perspective on how to align technology initiatives with broader business goals. When I’m not working, I love diving into how things work—whether it’s a piece of technology or something mechanical. I’m also a problem-solver at heart, constantly driven by the challenge of figuring out how things work and finding efficient solutions to complex issues. Whether it’s troubleshooting a technical glitch or streamlining processes, I thrive on turning challenges into opportunities for improvement.
