A unique perspective for strategically positioning intellectual property within a business. Proven startup and project management skills help take ideas from the back of a napkin to an operational business. Received bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with honors, minors in Math and Psychology from Southern Methodist University in 1983 while on a National Merit Scholarship. Using my patented technology, co-founded Viewics in 1996, a VC-funded developer of video technologies, products, and services. As COO managed the development teams and oversaw admin/corporate duties, fundraising, patent applications, and web/e-commerce/IT infrastructure architecture. Licensed the technology, most notably to Apple, Inc. Co-founded Occendo, LLC, a uni and bi-directional lab order/results portal in 2008, and served as CTO. Company sold to cGate Health in 2009. Joined cGate in 2011 to manage projects and assist with company sale. cGate sold in 2012. Numerous healthcare projects include- Occendo/cGate: lab orders and results platform including mobile apps - Walgreens: retained for pharmacy data conversions - ICL/Fujitsu: designed, implemented multiple pharmacy data conversion projects - Cardinal Health: architected, led team implementing Medicaid EDI interfaces and real-time transaction management system, managed Y2K remediation projects, designed interfaces for automated med dispensing equipment (Pyxis). An avid interest in healthcare and medical technologies led me to form Birthmarks.com in 1995, a premiere Internet online community and resource site for information about vascular and pigmented birthmarks. I served as the non-profit's Executive Director from 1995-2014. In October 2014 Birthmarks.com merged with the Vascular Birthmark Foundation.
