About Michael Stephenson

I am an experienced Mobile and Fixed Plant Operator; having worked across the mining and civil construction industries. My experience covers the operation of a diverse range of equipment including Front End Loaders, Dump Trucks, Rollers, Water Carts and Trucks and I have experience of operating the CAT 789B & C. I have previously managed a team of 8, and am often responsible for training junior operators and new-to-site employees. My most recent role of Mobile Plant Operator with Downer EDI Mining has provided me with the opportunity to use my expertise to provide insights into ways to improve productivity. Through this focus on continuous improvement, I have introduced a new traffic signal system which has resulted in an increase operator productivity; a $3.5M increase in production. Workplace safety remains a consistent area of focus for me, and I maintain a clean safety record based upon my knowledge of OH & S protocols, and my adherence to safety management. I take a proactive approach to ensuring team adherence to safety requirements including JHA’s and Take 5’ and attend regular tool box meetings.
