About Michael Stevenson

Michael Stevenson is a Partner practising in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Groups. He provides corporate and commercial advice to a broad base of Canadian and international clients. Michael's practice focuses primarily on corporate transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, and international and domestic joint ventures. He is also experienced in assembling and directing large teams of lawyers to conduct due diligence and implement transactions. Michael has assisted clients in a wide range of industries, including transportation, agribusiness, food production and distribution, consumer goods, real estate, financial services, and retail. He also has substantial experience acting for private equity investors and structuring private equity funds. In addition, he regularly advises foreign companies on establishing and structuring their Canadian operations. Michael is committed to participating in legal education and often leads seminars and lectures on various aspects of business law, including the drafting of transaction documents, due diligence, client service and corporate governance. He is a member of the Firm's Professional Development Committee and has been responsible for creating legal education programs for the Firm's associates, articling students and summer students. Michael is also active in the Firm's pro bono initiatives and works closely with, and provides legal advice to, Habitat for Humanity Canada and its affiliates.
