About Michael Strasen

Growing up, I would dismantle every toy, my bikes, electronics and find experiments at sight in an attempt to understand how and why they work the way they do and rebuild to full functionality. Just like everything in life, I succeeded at some and lost others. If ended up with broken things, that never stopped me, rather I screened my surrounding for the next challenge with “lessons learned” from the failed in my backpack as an engagement to ensure success. Starting my career as the assistant to managing director I immediately recognized the opportunity it presented, to understand the important assets of any organization, the people and their experience in life and business. I followed up my passion to harness diverse knowledge, get insides in how a company works from different angels such as sales and marketing, product management and technology. I landed a gold mine when I started to build up a department that covered my wish to overview and understand the environment, to identify business potential and / or new markets to feed the companies need for business intelligence as the main driver for identifying new opportunities and creating solutions to grow future business. Others would name the department “Business Development and Strategy” – I call it passion. The process of gaining knowledge involves to learn how to connect to people, build up teams and engage them to use their strength for further development. My biggest strength is being able to quickly and easily see skills, gifts and talents that people don’t even realize they have. This is also part of my role as a Working DAD and you will find me at home, mentoring my favorit little 9-year-old princess. I try to bring home a Proof of Concept showing her how to deal with our challenges in environmental protection, CO2-friendly thinking and handling of resources in terms of nature, energy and knowledge.
