About Michael Strizic

I'm a writer and editor with experience in managing communications, marketing, public relations, and advertising. My employment history includes editorial for publishing houses, magazines, and small businesses—as well as copywriting, fact checking, e-marketing campaigns, project management, radio production/broadcasting, and freelance writing for a wide variety of web- and print-based organizations. I am experienced with email marketing software, social media management tools, and the Adobe Creative Suite. I'm comfortable working with a variety of CMS, and I have the most experience running WordPress sites. I am certified in Google Analytics. My work has appeared in the Globe & Mail, the Walrus, the Literary Review of Canada, Canadian Geographic, District Energy Magazine, and Smithsonian Magazine, among others. I have worked in publishing, in print, and in travel. During my tenure at the Literary Review of Canada, I oversaw advertising sales and exceeded targets by 23%. I also spent time in the non-profit sector, working to benefit kids and families affected by childhood cancer. I'm currently working at the University of Toronto with the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society. I'm a proud father to a shockingly fast toddler. In my spare time, I like to perform with my band, run with my dog, and go on as many canoe trips as I can.
