About Michael Summerfield

Michael is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Managing Director of CJ Associates. He has 30 years’ of experience working across the built environment on projects for both public and private sector clients. Throughout his career, he has helped build some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure and urban regeneration projects, where he has played a key role in moving programmes through development into delivery. Michael has led multi-discipline programmes from inception to completion; conducted strategic reviews of programmes in distress and contributed to the commercial strategy and programme governance of £multi-billion programmes. In his current role, Michael leads an independent specialist project consultancy with particular expertise in scheme development, strategy and authorisation, stakeholder engagement and consultation, and programme and commercial management. He takes pride in the diverse teams that he has assembled and the culture they have created, which allows them to bring creative thinking to complex challenges and deliver better outcomes for their clients and the communities that they serve.
