About Michael Sutton-Long

I'm a Creative Director, Art Director, a Motion Designer, a general aesthetic enthusiast. I work at streaming platform Paramount+, where I joined to help build the brand and now lead the motion design team. I live and work in LA currently, after 12 years in NYC. I previously headed-up the design teams for 3 ViacomCBS brands, Paramount Network, TV Land and Smithsonian Channel. ViacomCBS has been an excellent place to work, affording me a place to climb up the tree and showcase my skills, giving me the opportunities to work on some huge projects. Before ViacomCBS I freelanced my way around NYC and before all that I lived in London, working at the BBC, Liquid and some further freelancing including CBBC. Along the way I've been lucky enough to work on some very high profile jobs, meet some amazing talented people and win a few awards (Promaxes mostly) and a few nominations (BAFTA, Emmy's). I’m in the very fortunate position to be part of a team of very talented people and I have been allowed to put together a team of very talented people. I’m just one part of the puzzle, but that isn’t to say I’m not extremely proud of my work, of the team. I believe good creative is an organic process, that comes from an enigmatic mix of talent, practice, teamwork, timing, care, inspiration, hard work and graft, dreams and the well of the subconscious. But putting together a team of likeminded individuals to achieve good creative has been a dream in itself. Opportunities come and go, so I cherish the opportunities I have. And the ability to be able to work hard, on the opportunities, with the team, all relies on the firm and base of good health, a happy home and a loving family, for which I am forever grateful.
