About Michael Taubenfeld

I graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where I was a member of the Cardozo Journal of Law & Gender. During law school, I interned for the Honorable Leon Ruchelsman, Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. I have represented hundreds of employees on an individual and class basis in bringing claims for unpaid minimum wages, unpaid overtime, unpaid prevailing and union wages and benefits, unlawful deductions, tip-skimming, retaliatory termination, unlawful collection of franchise fees under the New York State Franchise Act, forced kickbacks under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and breach of contract. I also litigated cases involving whistleblowers, sexual harassment, age discrimination, national origin discrimination and race discrimination. I also assist employers in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor laws. I am admitted to the state bars of New York and New Jersey, and am admitted to practice before the Eastern District and Southern District of New York. I am also a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association/New York and was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
