Background

About Michael Thoms

I have been working in manufacturing and service provision for decades in roles spanning Production Operative in my younger years to Owner Director of a ltd service provision company and pretty much everything in between. I have learned much over the years having worked for companies of various size and structure. I have been fortunate to have been an active element of helping some companies grow from start up to become market leaders and find this process extremely rewarding. I have been involved with companies with hugely varying approaches to manufacturing and service provision, from small start up companies without any formal structure to leading companies with extremely progressive Quality Management Systems, Health and Safety programs and high levels of accreditation. I am a huge believer in good leadership where inclusion at all levels is essential to create a solid company all working in step, especially so in larger corporations where company growth can often be the enemy of efficiency and effective progression. I personally relish the challenge of reinventing myself professionally and taking on challenges others may shy away from. In my time in warranty management I have learned you can, with the right effort, make the end result of a failure be a stronger position than if no problem had occurred. I believe a failure is just an opportunity to look closer at a situation and improve it, something I try to instill in others.
