About Michael Tipton

I am a University of Texas graduate having received my diploma with a Bachelor’s in Sociology with a minor in Business. I’ve spent 36 years in Austin which gives me a deep connection to the city I love. My passion in health and wellness over the last few years maybe connected to that of my love for sports as a youth. The unity, camaraderie and life lessons sports taught me were instilled at an early age. Most of my professional career has been spent working in restaurants and the service industry. Some people are unable to handle the pressure of fast-paced, intense environments, but I spent my youth playing competitive sports and spent a better part of my adult career thriving under such demands. As a server at Jeffrey's, an award-winning fine dining restaurant in Central Austin, I am required to balance a host of abilities under a stressful and exacting need for perfection. Working there can be a daily challenge, yet I manage to maintain a positive relationship with coworkers and customers who visit the restaurant with the highest of expectations. Upwards of thirty guests arrive simultaneously each night and consistently test my attitude and problem-solving skills as I navigate their needs. At times particular guests are challenging, perhaps reacting negatively to a mistake with their order, but I have learned to respond in such a way as to best appease the customer in the hopes our interaction will not negatively color their experience at Jeffrey’s. The last 3 years have been a personally transformative period in my life, and each day I look to improve myself spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally. Additionally, I do this to open myself up to opportunities that I may have ignored during other periods of my life. Whether you call it maturity, growth or evolution, it has changed my outlook completely. I strive to bring this renewed sense of positivity to any future endeavor.
