About Michael Tumberger

I am a hardworking person committed to growth. Throughout my time at K-State, I have been dedicated to enriching my academic experience beyond the classroom. One example of this is my participation in competitions hosted by other universities and organizations, such as the Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition and the CFA Challenge, where my team earned 2nd place regionally. Outside of school, I have had the opportunity to participate in the Magentar Capital Intern Program, where I gained valuable experience in alternative credit. During my time in the program, I was able to deepen my understanding of this niche within finance, working closely with the team on various projects. I also had the opportunity to present two projects directly to the managing partners, which helped me develop my presentation skills. Along with this I am currently an analyst at University Venture Fund Crossroads, which provides experiential learning in entrepreneurship, taught through the lens of venture capital and private finance. It builds a network of young leaders who understand what building scalable, investable companies looks like. Additionally, I serve as Vice President in the Finance Scholars Program, which is designed to prepare students for careers in Investment Banking, Asset Management, and Consulting. This program has provided me with valuable opportunities to work through Wall Street Prep and Bloomberg Market Concepts. In my leadership role, I am currently assisting other students with recruiting efforts for these industries, helping them navigate the process and prepare for success.
