I live and breathe mathematics. When I was 16, I was accepted into an accelerated mathematics program. At 19, I was awarded a Bachelor of Science (Applied Mathematics) after which I completed a Masters (Applied Mathematics), followed by a PhD (yes, you guessed it, in Mathematics). 0434 996 972 mtwito101@gmail.comI was lucky enough to find my passion early. Unravelling the most complex of problems energizes and fascinates me. Solving them is a whole other level - turning the previously impossible into possible, is amazing to me. Finding truly original mathematical solutions that don’t appear in textbooks is what I do best – I am happy to jump right into the formulae, understand them and improve them further. That’s exactly what I did during my post-grad studies when I discovered previously unknown solutions of complicated (nonlinear) equations.As the mathematician David Hilbert once said: “… he who seeks for methods without having a definite problem in mind seeks for the most part in vain.” I enjoy following this advice in my work.I’m known for my meticulous attention to detail and balancing that with a big picture vision, as well as my original and powerful mathematical ideas. I lean towards perfectionism, and in mathematics, that’s not such a bad thing! If there is ever the slightest shadow of doubt when I’m presented with a methodology, I’m not afraid to speak up and challenge the status quo if I detect something’s a little off. At the same time, I’m buoyed by my peers and really enjoy sharing my findings, listening to feedback, and improving the end result further. I welcome the complicated - I love the challenge of seeing what can be improved upon and always try to derive a better solution. Jim Simons has long been my idol and outside of work, I spend my time learning everything I can about finance.
