About Michael V. Wiles

Objective - To be part of dynamic organisations and bring change. The driving force of my career is to solve biological, medical and commercially relevant problems. I develop novel biotechnologies and combine these with established systems. My aim is to create practical efficient solutions and establish new product lines and/or internal systems with a primary focus on genetic engineering. I enjoy focusing on the efficient realization and commercializing of concepts developed in my and other laboratories, developing new products, services and building associated intellectual property. Currently, my main drives are the evaluation and where appropriate, the implementing and improvement of precision genetic engineering systems directed at mice as models of the human condition, with a focus on efficiency and donor size- and as always, I'm open to listen to the new and build upon it Specific strengths - see also my publications and patents • Development of novel systems with a primary focus on genetic engineering directly in the zygote • Innovative application of science to develop new products/services • Generating positive return on investment and subsequent successful commercial launch • Extensive experience and knowledge in ES cell and stem cell biology, mammalian genetics, molecular biology, gene editing, animal modeling and assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) • Effective team building, working within matrix structures across multiple departments, cultures and with external organizations (nationally and internationally) • Longstanding national and international networking • Generating intellectual property • Planning of budgets and financial management including acquiring of grants
