I have been working for 15 years in an unit called GEIPAN of the French Space Agency CNES whose brief is to investigate unidentified aerospace phenomena (UAP) and make my findings available to the public. Hired by the Space Agency as a Consultant in Data-Analysis, Methodology of investigation and analysis of cases. The main difficulty of UAP is to objectively qualify & quantify the information collected and reduce the noise in the information collected. At first, my job was to help to set up the activity of the GEIPAN created in September 2005, since then, I work with the last 6 managers of this service through various activities. Notably, I designed the investigation methodology for UAP sightings. This methodology is essential to avoid personal prejudices and cognitive bias from the investigators (not only from the witnesses!) It precisely measures parameters like the degree of Strangeness (or degree of unknown) and Consistency of phenomena. Measuring, Consistency is an evaluation of the quantity of reliable informations in a case. How to achieve that is directly related to knowledge linked to disinformation operations. This is of crucial importance because without a common tool to objective the process of investigation, individual beliefs too often parasitize the choice and/or analysis of underlying hypothesis. And its inevitably raises criticisms and disagreements. I also designed and developed the new database for the GEIPAN, its underlying workflow and carry out trainings for the GEIPAN. I help to launch the web site for the GEIPAN: at this time, it was the first governmental agency in the world launching a web site about UAP/UFOs! Published in 2007, the success was tremendous and the web site was overwhelmed by hundred of thousands of connections all over the world. Passionate about understanding what is going on behind the scenes, he always keep in mind this question: How to advance our knowledge on this subject and help science move forward? To contribute on this topic, I worked aside the GEIPAN with researchers on studies to gain insight into the nature and origin of UAPs (see https://arxiv.org/abs/1509.00571). My aim was to restrain hypothesis about the behavior of these phenomena using a high number of cases and Deep Data Analytics. It draws an ecological and "ecosystemic" vision, were the phenomena seems to correlate with all environmental risks, well beyond the only correlation with nuclear activities often observed and cited.
