About Michael van Herpen

Background ‍ My interest in the web began in the early when I got my own computer as a teenager. I discovered CU2, a platform for young people where you could make your own profile using a subset of HTML. After a few years working in the hospitality industry, I resumed my interest in technology and design in 2011 when I began a new Communication & Multimedia Design course at the University of Avans, where creativity, technology, design and research come together. That was the moment my interest changed into passion. The course provided a solid but basic foundation. I continued to self-learn programming out of curiosity. Because I want to bring my designs and ideas to life. I am still learning to this day. Not only to ensure that I can offer the most modern and effective solutions, but also because it I find it fun and interesting. Making my hobby my work How I love to work 🤗 It is important to me that when I work on a project, the product I work on also feels like my own. In other words, putting your passion into the product so that you are part of the outcome and success. I'm not about making things because I have to and to check off tasks, but I find it important to deliver a product that is not only beautiful but more importantly user-friendly. That is a high priority for me. A product that you fully stand behind. This is also my personal passion in life: to make things as easy, efficient and user-friendly as possible. This is reflected in my love of home-automation, design and gadgets, which I spend a lot of my free time on.
