About Michael Velez

Michael Velez is a Workforce Program Specialist with Workforce Solutions Borderplex whose focus is on the development of projects and initiatives for transitioning service members, military spouses, and veterans in the west Texas region. He works closely with Fort Bliss and VSO's (Veteran Services Organizations ) within the El Paso community and surrounding areas to create and improve opportunities for this population. Through the development of different initiatives and programs that can provide job skills, training, and support; WSB is committed to better serve our military community. Michael is a proud Marine Veteran that served in Afghanistan and was born and raised in El Paso, TX. He is a proud graduate of Burges High School and received his Bachelor's degree in Social Psychology as well as his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Park University. Michael has served the El Paso community in many different aspects, holding various positions with El Paso Independent School District, local non-profits like the Child Crisis Center of El Paso and now with Workforce Solutions Borderplex. Michael has continued his commitment to our military service members and their families by working with the Executive Military and Veterans Affairs Committee and by his partnership with the USO and ACS (Army Community Services).
