About Michael Vukas

Experienced and forward-thinking Lead Database Administrator with over 8 years of expertise in database architecture, data solutions, data modeling, and project management. I specialize in building scalable, secure systems using Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data Services, and Power Platform technologies. At the Durham District School Board, I've led the successful development and management of enterprise-level platforms and data recovery strategies, and protected critical infrastructure from cybersecurity threats. I have soley developed a technology approval workflow streamlining organizational processes leveraging PowerApps, Power Automate, and Dataverse to build an enterprise-grade solution now used by over end users. This formalized review process removed approval bottlenecks and reduced approval times by more than 60%. Following its success, I presented the solution at ECNO, a technology leadership conference for Ontario school boards, which led to its adoption by several boards across the province. Currently pursuing the Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate certification, I am committed to continual learning and expanding my technical toolkit, which includes T-SQL, PL/SQL, Python, and PowerShell.
