About Michael Wagenknecht

I’ve spent the past seven years behind the mic calling hockey, soccer, football, basketball, and baseball — and I still get the same rush every time I say, “We’re underway!” I’m a play-by-play broadcaster who thrives on storytelling and energy — making fans feel connected to the game and the people in it. My work has taken me from NCAA and ACHA broadcasts to USL League Two soccer, and I’ve been fortunate to call games on both radio and TV for Lindenwood University, where I also help train and mentor student broadcasters. Along the way, I’ve learned the broadcast world from every angle: directing and producing live events, running replays and graphics, setting up camera and audio systems, and managing student crews. That hands-on experience has made me not just a better broadcaster, but a more complete teammate in the production truck or booth. I’m always looking to grow — whether that means stepping into a full-time broadcasting role, expanding my freelance work with a major network, or continuing to elevate the college and professional teams I work with now.
