About Michael Watson

I have skills and experience in Lean Manufacturing, EHS, maintenance, and management that are transferable to any industrial application. I enjoy creating and developing a team to achieve company goals, engaging all departments in continuous improvement strategies, motivating them with “SMART” KPIs and evaluating their performance, including a development plan. These are essential to retaining skilled employees. Getting to know your employees by being on the floor and leading by example, gains their trust and respect. Coaching the team to eliminate “At Risk Behavior”, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and creating a culture where all employees are responsible for everybody’s safety is the key to a Zero Accident work environment. My extensive safety training and maintenance background allows me to identify areas of opportunity and improvement applicable to any manufacturing site. Working with the Regional Controller to create plant budgets, controlling variable and fixed costs and reporting monthly results to the VP of Operation were also requirements of my position, Responsibilities included creating, justifying and managing CAPEX projects. I have worked in a wide variety of industries and learn and understand new processes very quickly. I am a problem solver, and my engineering, mechanical and management background allows me to solve production as well as personnel problems. I prefer a challenging environment where working safely, meeting production goals and staying in budget is top priority.
