About Michael Weaver

As a Principal/Geotechnical Engineer with more than 20 years of experience, I work with both private and public clients to understand their project needs and figure out ways to make their projects successful. I enjoy solving complex below grade geotechnical and environmental challenges that come up on projects while keeping in mind the bigger picture of the project objectives, schedule, and budget. Challenges that I have encountered include excavating deep basements on small congested urban sites, utilizing new technology such as ground improvement to reduce foundation costs, and optimizing soil reuse through soil conditioning to reduce soil export costs. As Director of Field Services, I am responsible for ensuring that our staff are performing field explorations, sampling, and construction observations in a safe, technically sound, efficient, and consistent manner. As part of this role, I get to exercise my passion for developing effective training and mentoring programs and work with practitioners across our organization.
