About Michael Willis

Michael Willis has 23 years of working as an electrician. As part of his experience, he has overseen the commissioning of DC motor drive systems designed to power mud pumps and top drive drilling motors. His job description also entails providing preventive maintenance (PM), electrical and mechanical, or drilling systems for coastal barge drilling rigs along the Gulf of Mexico. Michael is an expert in troubleshooting Integrated Power Systems (IPS) control circuits on both the AC and DC sides. He is also qualified to make electrical repairs on CANRIG top drives. Besides, he has vast experience working with Canrig Traveling Equipment Anti-Collision System (TAC-2) as an installer and maintainer. He has a proven track record in working with General Electric 752 DC traction motor upkeep and repair skills. Michael has served as subject matter expert for electrical maintenance for no less than five Robert Allen designed harbor tugboats. He has supervised electricians during new construction and overhaul upgrades of offshore supply vessels, push boats, and tractor tugs. His experience comes from working with other trades among the many shipyards of the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Michael has been in charge of Royals Royce thruster installation, Woodward generator controls, and Furuno wheelhouse packages. Besides working as a qualified electrician, Michael Willis has vast experience working throughout the world in more dangerous areas as a combat medic and engineer with the United States Army. Some of his notable positions included providing healthcare to refugees in the Central African Republic, managed medical treatment for foreign partner forces in South America, and performed preventive medicine for a paratrooper battalion based in Jackson, MS. As a combat engineer, Michael led combat engineer teams throughout Anbar Province Iraq and provided personal security for Generals and their staff in Paktika Province Afghanistan. Michael graduated with honors from Henley Putnam University with a Master of Science in Strategic Security and Executive Protection. He also graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Technology.
