About Michael Wolf

My primary objective is to become a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst. I am currently trying to find a job where I can train to be a Behavior Technician for children with exceptionalities. After taking half a year off as a one-on-one Special Education IA to work with my son who has hypotonia and autism, I now understand that the best I can do to help him and myself is to become a BCBA. To me this is the next step to better understand a whole-brain approach, to show and educe from him and learners of all kinds that the way they learn is their own beautiful method, hoping to elicit and develop upon them. This is my primary motivation and drive as I assist and collaborate with staff and clients. In order to learn and develop Behavior Technician best practices, I will implement my working philosophy which involves transactive cooperation. The latter word, cooperation, suggests that we are all in this together, that we need all sorts of personality traits, dispositions, and skills and their willingness to work together in order to thrive. The former word, transactive, suggests strengthening communications and therefore working relationships with peers utilizing learner theory and active listening. The heart of this model borrows from a saying in education, that people don't care what you know until they know that you care. When instilled, positive cooperation happens.
