About Michael Worswick

After earning a degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies from ITT, I began my career in the semiconductor industry, starting as a production technician and advancing to equipment engineer. My technical expertise and hands-on experience led to successful cost-saving initiatives and maintenance strategies across various equipment and systems. In the early I had the opportunity to represent my company in transferring technology to offshore partners in Morioka, Japan, and Taipei, Taiwan. These experiences, including a week in Japan and two stints in Taiwan (one lasting two weeks and the other two months), broadened my technical expertise and provided invaluable cross-cultural insights. In my engineering roles, I’ve coordinated equipment rebuilds, programmed PLC systems with integrated HMI interfaces, and developed preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability. My in-house work resulted in over $100K in savings from parts repairs and optimization. Additionally, I’ve managed CMMS platforms to streamline maintenance tasks, reduce downtime, and cut manufacturing costs by more than 50%. I’ve led efforts to install and upgrade equipment, ensuring seamless integration into production lines. By introducing new equipment platforms and optimizing spare parts inventories, I drove improvements in production efficiency, reducing unnecessary spare parts by over $200K and enhancing production capabilities. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in semiconductor manufacturing, utilizing my technical knowledge and leadership to drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency. My experience spans both wafer processing and SMT assembly, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s most advanced technologies and practices. Outside of work, I have a strong passion for baseball, a love shared with my family. My son played select baseball and continued through college, and we’ve attended multiple World Series games, an All-Star Game, and a Home Run Derby. When I’m not on the baseball field, I enjoy photography and have a special interest in palm trees.
