About Michael Wride

Mike has a passion for creative, innovative and transformative approaches to learning. He has an adaptable, co-operative and collaborative approach, which enables him to connect with and communicate effectively with the individuals and organizations with whom he works. Mike's PhD in Developmental Biology makes him uniquely placed to think in terms of systems and organizational complexity. He has worked for many years as a research scientist, group leader and mentor to his many students and has published over 50 peer reviewed journal articles in science as well as in education. Mike also has a Postgraduate Certificate in University Teaching & Learning from Cardiff University and a MEd in Higher Education Teaching & Learning from Trinity College Dublin. He can design diverse curricula (both face-to-face and online) and can lead and facilitate educational programmes in different contexts for diverse stake-sharers/holders. Mike is currently Transformative Pedagogies Lead in the Centre for Transformative Learning at the University of Limerick, Ireland. Through Learning With Creativity -Educational Services Mike can provide your organization with bespoke workshops as well as seminar/webinar facilitation in transformative and creative teaching & learning. Given his transdisciplinary approach, he is also well qualified to facilitate across boundaries to help dissolve disciplinary silos and promote communication and co-operation between members of your organization. Mike can also leverage his extensive curriculum development expertise (online and face to face), including advising on assessment, evaluation & feedback. Mike also has extensive experience of transnational/international education, particularly in Canada (where he carried out his PhD and two post-docs) and India (through his role in a collaboration between Trinity College Dublin and Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) between 2016 and 2020). Mike is an holistic and future-orientated thinker who enjoys open-minded exploration of ideas through reading, writing and dialogue with others.
