About Michael Yakobi

Coding was my hobby when I was 9yo and is still my passion through all my jobs.I love learning new technologies/languages/designs/paradigms/whatever (and using them of course).Since 2014 I'm focused on building products "for the cloud" and am all in.Started my travels in the virtual world back in 2007 when I lead the adding of VMware VirtualCenter support to Onaro's SANscreen. Next came AWS where I was leading the development of NetApp's OCCM which deployed and managed ONTAP storage in AWS (and later in Azure and GCP).Finally, at SolarEdge I've been building infrastructures and applications running in K8S.I have lots and lots of experience in IT - been a system and network admin back in '93 and since then I'm always involved in the IT/OPs of the projects I work on. I've also being a MySQL DBA for several years (and Oracle DBA back in the '90s).I hate working on code that isn't reasonably covered by automated tests or that is hard to test manually, usually I'll end up building frameworks that simplify end-to-end tests and often a simulator of 3rd party components so its easier to test my code manually or automatically.Looking to code and design – Not looking for managing a team, thank you. Would love to cooperate with engineers that can challenge me and teach me new tricks and technologies.
