About Michael Yardehnavi

Helping others overcome their challenges is one of my core values in life; I find it a meaningful and satisfying experience to help others overcome their barriers and grow. Also, as a natural outside-the-box thinker, I’ve always thrived in complex environments where I can challenge the status quo to find a better way and improve on the existing ones. I am a person who does not settle and is always looking for the next challenge! With my background in engineering and management and my ability in building long-lasting relationships, I found consulting a meaningful path to use my full potential in helping companies solve strategic problems and leading stakeholders to value-accretive change. In my current engagement, I’ve managed to build a 7-year long relationship with the client while changing many roles and responsibilities over the years, helping them in their mission to renew the City of Chicago gas infrastructure in a multi-decade, multi-billion dollar program. Some of the core impacts I had during this engagement- Developed a central, real-time, and cloud-based Power BI cost and project progression database that reduced teams’ workload by 10 days and eliminated a 40-day lag in reporting - Increased the accuracy of accrual and cash-flow forecast by up to 25% by building new tools - Managed cost and schedule for over 100 projects with up to $95M annual investment goal - Responded to 16 governmental audits covering 4 years and $1.1B of investment for over 400 projects Currently, I am working extensively on my personal development to learn more about agile project management and methodologies. I am a certified scrum master, certified scrum product owner, and PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner an have extensive knowledge on agile subjects and practices. I spend most of my free time reading books! I have a wide range of interests, but I am mainly fascinated by psychology and behavioral science, financial markets, astronomy, and philosophy novels! I've led quite a lot of book clubs, feel free to ask me for a fantastic read!
