About Michael Young

As a Special Investigations Sergeant at Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), I lead a team of highly trained and experienced officers who conduct complex and sensitive investigations involving organized crime, narcotics, gangs, and violent offenders. I also have over two years of experience as a SWAT Team Leader Sergeant, where I oversaw the tactical operations, planning, training, and coordination of the elite unit that responds to high-risk situations. I am a certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and a Tactical Medic, with skills in leadership, management, fitness, and emergency medical care. My mission is to protect and serve the community, uphold the law, and pursue justice, with professionalism, integrity, and courage. I have been working in law enforcement for over 18 years, starting as a patrol officer and rising through the ranks to become a detective and a sergeant. I am passionate about improving the safety, security, and quality of life of the residents and visitors of Las Vegas, as well as enhancing the performance, wellness, and morale of my team and the organization. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the LVMPD, a college graduate, and a lifelong learner.
