About Michael Young

Michael Young is a technical project manager in the Accelerated Deployment and Decision Support Center at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where he and his colleagues lead complex energy projects that empower decisionmakers with the knowledge to adopt renewable energy and energy efficiency strategies and provide solutions to achieve decarbonization goals. Michael’s work focuses on the development and deployment greenhouse gas emissions research and analysis and decarbonization strategies. Michael's expertise in energy and sustainability combines with his passion for environmentalism to contribute to a wide range of projects. Along with professional work experience, Michael holds a Master's degree in Energy Systems Engineering and is recognized as a Certified Carbon Auditing Professional (CAP) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Always keeping the Triple Bottom Line in focus, Michael's work experience includes- Energy and sustainability strategy development - Greenhouse gas accounting and decarbonization research - Zero energy buildings research and workforce development - Feasibility studies for renewable energy projects Michael graduated from Lehigh University with a Master's of Engineering in Energy Systems Engineering, and Muhlenberg College with a Bachelor's of Science in Physics.
