About Michael Ziegler

I am a National Certified Counselor with the National Board for Certified Counselors, a Certified Pastoral Counselor in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. I work as a clinical psychotherapist at Bootheel Counseling Services in Sikeston, MO, and I see clients in private telementalhealth practice. I am also listed on the Missouri CIT State Council’s directory of providers for law enforcement officers and first responders. My clinical experience also includes working as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant and Mobile Therapist for Child Guidance Resource Centers, in Chester County, PA. I am a certified instructor for Mental Health First Aid for adults and youth, and for QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training. I have post-graduate training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, for use with children and their primary caregivers, EMDR Trauma Therapy, and have training in Integrative Treatment for Complex Trauma(ITCT). I worked for two years as a Community Mental Health Liaison in Missouri, working closely with law enforcement and courts to connect or reconnect people encountered by police and courts to needed behavioral healthcare services, and to provide continuing education for licensed law enforcement officers in Mental Health topics, including officer self care, and provided brief interventions to first responders in the immediate wake of critical incidents. I worked with the state and regional Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Councils to promote and provide officer training and to improve systems of care for people facing behavioral health crises. I worked for over a decade in leadership positions in Catholic Parishes and in the Catholic Diocese of Memphis.* Direction of the Department of Divine Worship for the Catholic Diocese of Memphis * Direction of a parish Religious Education program for Children and Adults, including Christian Initiation (RCIA)* Retreat work as a member of retreat teams, as well as planning and facilitating retreats.
