About Michaela Gerhardt

During my bachelor studies in economics at the University of Cologne and my master studies in Economic Behaviour & Governance at the University of Kassel, I developed a strong interest in the field of quantitative analysis - especially in connection with the topic of human behaviour - through the behavioural economics and econometrics modules. As a native South African, I moved to Germany in 2013 for a Bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in business administration. In line with my background, both my English and German language skills are at native level. After successfully completing my bachelor's degree and developing a growing interest in behavioural economic topics and applied research, my master's degree and my work as a student assistant for Prof. Dr. Ziegler allowed me to gain deeper insights into the field of empirical economic research. Here, I particularly acquired a confident handling of the statistical software program Stata. My background in behavioural economics taught me to apply different empirical research methods, to recognise patterns and to analyse them. I am very interested in this branch of science and have a keen interest in applying my knowledge to practice.
