About Michaela Halpern

A self-described multi-disciplinary creative based in Toronto, Ontario, I tend to dabble in whatever medium I can get my hands on. My inspiration comes from beginnings of messing with the code of Windows Movie Maker, late nights at the sewing machine, and kick-ball-changes onstage— and if something involves a glue gun, my callused fingertips have always been ready to go. Nowadays, most of my creative work lives on a hard drive. Dominantly focusing on pattern, icons, commercial work, and branding, I try and experiment with whatever creative application I can. And, if I have a chance for a set day, I’m absolutely there helping with set dec or standing in as an extra. Mostly, my favourite part of what I do is connecting with people. Seeing someone connect with a brand, interact with some packaging, having a wild brainstorm session, or just have someone look at their day-to-day a bit differently is an incredibly rewarding part of what I do- Prior background experience spans illustration, graphic design, advertising, packaging design, content creation and video creation/editing, retail, events, XM, fashion design, jewelry design, education, fine art, and basic coding and web design.
