About Michaela Marciniak

As a proud Lumbee Native American, I bring a unique perspective to my professional endeavors. Growing up in Durham, NC, I began my career at 16 years old at Chick-fil-A, where I developed a strong foundation in customer service, which profoundly shaped my work ethic and approach to workplace culture. This foundation has remained a guiding principle throughout my career, even as I transitioned into the animal medical field, where I gained hands-on experience in patient care, veterinary medicine, and animal disease management.From my work as a graduate research assistant to practical cow handling, my diverse skill set has been strengthened by both technical knowledge and a deep respect for animal care. My Lumbee heritage, deeply rooted in agriculture, instilled in me the values of hard work and a commitment to the land, which I integrate into every aspect of my professional life.With a BS in Animal Science and currently pursuing a Master’s of Animal Science at North Carolina State University, I am equipped with both the academic foundation and practical experience needed to drive meaningful advancements in agriculture. I am passionate about pursuing a career that allows me to leverage my education, contribute to the field of agriculture, and engage with my community to foster positive change.
