About Michaela Muckell
To me, the classroom is an incredible place. It's a place of growth, creativity, collaboration, smiles,"Aha!" moments, hard work, and thoughtfulness. I love the flexibility and constant change of a classroom, the gathering of so many unique voices, the daily surprises and joys of seeing students grow and succeed. My passion is teaching, and I live to learn. I am a student like all my students, constantly seeking to be a better teacher, communicator, or guide. I will be the first to tell you that I have a lot to learn! But that is precisely why teaching is such a joy for me- I love the school environment, in which I get to learn from my students and my students (hopefully!) get to learn from me. I received my M.A.T. from Manhattanville College in 2018. I am a New York State certified teacher for E.L.A. Grades 5-9 and E.L.A. Grades 7-12. Prior to my graduate work, I received my B.A. in English Literature from Manhattanville College, where I also pursued a minor in Studio Art. I currently work as a 7th Grade English Teacher for the Clarkstown Central School District.
