About Michaela van Hierden

Enhancing the healthcare experience for patients and providers has grown to be my passion. As a clinician and healthcare professional with 10+ years of experience, I have seen firsthand how organizational wellbeing relates to individual wellbeing. In 2020, I moved out of direct patient care and into administrative work. I made this change with the intention of addressing wellbeing on a more global level. My diverse work and life experience have equipped me with the unique skillset to be innovative in the areas of workplace culture, health equity, and wellbeing. I currently serve as the administrative lead for my department’s culture, climate, and wellbeing initiatives. I have proven success in working within multidisciplinary teams and alongside leadership on process improvement, change management, and program development. I thrive on breaking down barriers that prevent organizations and the people within them from reaching their full potential. I am not afraid to think outside of the box, try new things, or even fail. I believe in and value servant leadership, the power of embracing vulnerability, and authentic human connection. I aspire to educate others on whole health and true wellbeing science to improve the systems we all rely on.
