About Michaela Weaver

Combining passions for communication and public service to help public health officials bring sometimes difficult subjects to Ohioans through social media. I serve as a resource for local health department public information staff on social media needs. I have experience working in the JIC for real life emergencies (virtually and in the state Emergency Operations Center), assisting in creating communication-based grant deliverables, and practicing communication plans during state emergency drills (nuclear plant, BioWatch, etc.). Real-life emergency experiences have ranged from infant formula shortages to train derailments, and from infectious diseases to recalls. I have worked with all subject areas of public health at the state and local level to bring their communication needs to life in a way that’s easy for the public to understand. A firm believer in showing your human side is sometimes the best strategy.
